James Burke's Connections (1978)

I really enjoyed this as a kid. Anyone else remember it or enjoyed it too?

Absolutely! And in fact it's slated to follow Cosmos on the homeschool science TV day schedule we're currently following.

And not to start a flame war or anything, :) but even though I certainly admire and respect Dr. Sagan, I always preferred James Burke's presentation.

Still two great men of popular science education we haven't seen the likes of in decades, and may never again...

Brilliant presenter, used to be on a UK science/technolgy program called Tommorow's World, when it was good. Went to the US, our loss, your gain, brain drain?

Ouch! You're dissin' my hero, Dr. S! (Come to think of it, that could be either Sagan or Suess).

I enjoyed the Burke TV series so much in '78 I even bought the book.

James Burke bears a lot of responsibility for my interest in science from the 70's when he was co-presenting Tommorow's World with Raymond Baxter. I also remember him presenting the UK coverage of the Apollo missions.

Burke got me to think about more than science; he makes me think about history and society and how science fits into it. I can't watch one of his shows just once, they all require multiple rewinds.

It was a fantastic programme, totally original in conception and an example of what the BBC was all about in the 70s. I'm going back to YouTube to check them out.
