This is something I noticed with the Arrow-class transport on the UCGO module...a nicely robust add-on module, I must say. The problem is that you cannot maintain a dock with the Arrow landed on a surface. Even if the physics allow (e.g., under lunar gravity) I cannot maintain dock. I can align and capture, but once I do so, the ship drops out and effectively crashes.

I have seen a couple of aborted attempts to re-create the Pegasus from "Space Oddysey: Voyage to the Planets." The Arrow-class transport would probably be much more robust than the Pegasus. However after conversing with Dansteph the problem seems to lie with the core Orbiter program.

My request: fix this. Allow spaceplanes to be loaded when compatible. I mean making a hard dock isn't easy, but under lunar gravity? Loading for a flight? Ugh...drives me nuts. (I am however glad that the XR1/XR2 can refuel on the Arrow...makes it an ideal lander for a planetary mission.)

Not quite the right thread to post this. Since this is an orbiter core issue (or, rather, a lacking feature), the best place would be the Orbiter 2010P1 thread, although I think there already is a feature request for this. Still, can't hurt to dig it out and add your support to it.

Yes, it's been raised in the Orbiter2010-P1 project issues list here.
