Has anyone tried to develop a LIDAR MFD ?
Something like the Ummu on-screen datas but inside a MFD and available for all vessels.
A tool with relative position and velocity would be neat. (Maybe with angular velocity too.)
Thanks.

I think what Jarod want is something similar that is in use by Space X Dragon capsule.

Cras, thanks, I don't know about RPOP, I don't know if it did that, but anyway it is not available anymore and I have no interest in using an addon if its author don't want to share it.

Something like this?

Well, it seems it has the same datas as AttitudeMFD except on HUD instead of MFD.
There is no x,y,z just total distance and velocity and Vx, Vy, Vz.
What I am after is a MFD with at least X,Y,Z, Vx, Vy, Vz relative to a target.
Radial velocity on 3 axes would be an appreciated addition too.
Total distance and velocity are already available with the docking HUD, but it could be interesting to have these datas if the target is not dockable.
I went through all orbithangar, I didn't see any addon like that except for two :
UMmu : but the datas are on HUD instead of MFD and they are only available for UMmus.
And I think the Soyuz addon which has a special docking HUD with all these datas, but again still on HUD and only available for the soyuz capsule.

Its up at Simviation now. Just download the latest shuttle fleet and it is in there. It shows distance on each axis as well as the rate of change. Betweem both the CG and docking ports.

I have been wanting something like that for some time. Something that can replicate the Gemini radar, but I'm not quite sure how much data it provided, and how it was displayed.

It would be nice to use a more realistic method for long range alignment.

Once again, I opened my big mouth without knowing, Thanks to David for making his addons available and thanks to Cras for pointing me toward them.
I just gave a try to RPOP and this is a good start to what I'm looking for.
What I mean is :
RPOP is a little too graphic for my taste, I would be happy with just numbers without anything else going in the way.
I lol'ed when I used the "declutter" option and it kept the graphic part without the numbers.
RPOP is in feet and feet/s and this is distracting to deal with meters and feet at the same time.
Finally, RPOP is radar, not lidar, minimum measurable distance is a foot instead of a centimeter.

I made a picture to explain how I see it :

TGT to select a target
DCK to select a docking port on the target if applicable
Dst : Total relative distance to target or docking port if selected
V : Total relative velocity to target or docking port if selected
X,Y,Z : components of distance
Vx, Vy, Vz : components of velocity
A,B,D : relative inclination on 3 axis with origin on target or docking port if selected
wA, wB, wD : rate of rotation on 3 axis

RPOP was made to directly simulate a tool used by Shuttle astronauts, so it does have those idiosyncracies, such as the graphical representation (which can be a bit distracting I must admit when the axis are not so neatly aligned) and uses imperial units.

I would prefer to use an MFD as you described, neat clean and only displaying the important information.

I dont have the time to dive into this, but maybe someone else does.
