I was wondering if anyone could make Lunar Landing addon for the year 1890, because that would be neat to see a old craft land on the moon!

Steampunk huh? You'll want a crack modeler and animator to do it justice. If you can think of a plausible method, it might be worth a try.

I'll let you know if I think of anything good. Right now I'm thinking of a solid fuel (maybe pulsed) rocket lifted by a zeppelin or blimp.

1890 is a bit early to go to the moon, don't you think? Or am I missing something

Jules Vern wrote about a "Space Bullet" concept. Astronauts would board a capsule which would then be fired out of a very, very big cannon.

Here's an excerpt:

His 900 foot cannon contained 200 foot of explosives. Sunk vertically in the ground, it fired a 9 ft. diameter capsule / bullet whose walls were supposedly a foot thick. Based on Verne's data, the projectile would have a muzzle velocity of 1,200 yards per second, not the 12,000 yards per second calculated by Verne. At this velocity, the space bullet and contents would vertically loft 12 miles before falling to Earth. Not only would the descent have terminated the lives of the passengers, the initial acceleration (from zero to 24,545 miles an hour in 700 feet -if we use Verne's figures) would have turned the contents of the capsule into a puddle of red jelly. At such an acceleration, a 170 pound man would achieve a weight of 3,422 tons in a fraction of a second.

Maybe we could do a direct ascent module (since back in the late 1800's they didn't think of LOR) The Rocket could be like the Heinlien (don't know if I spelled that right)
