First, welcome to Orbiter-Forum.

There have been a few forums for Orbiter over the years, clearly you must have registered on one of the old forums ages ago. The database from the previous Orbiter forum was not able to be ported into this software, so everyone had to register again.

Also the forum was not "whining" at you, it's a simple welcome message for new members who have never posted:

It appears you have never posted before. We invite you to make your first post today! Feel free to introduce yourself in our Meets & Greets forum or engage in an already active discussion. Thanks for being a part of the community!

It goes away after your first post, unless you'd prefer it stay up it can be arranged.
