MarsBaseAlpha3.1 is a functional base of Mars. Based on the Moon Base Alpha from Space 1999. But the pads are functional. Each Pad has side doors and airlocks. It is UMMU functional. Must download UMMU. Included is a DG cfg so you can see what it takes to be attached to the pads.

Pros: Looks like a cool add-on
Cons: Extraction instructions missing
Review:
I've tried the manual method, and made the additions to the cfg's, but it's still a no go.

Has anyone that has/is using this have problems extracting it. I noticed a couple of issues in the reviews.

No problems here. The only issue I had is the DG sank through the pad when I detached it. To solve this (since I was launching anyway) was to fire up the hover engines for departure, then detatch. It looked great on the replay.

That's the only issue I've had as well.

EDIT: One other thing: I don't know what the 'eject' button is intended to be used for, but when I tried to use it, it dropped the UMMUs from a height of about 20m (from the centre of the base), and killed them :P

Thanks. Without collision detection that will happen. I think eject ejects the ummu out.

Works awesome. If you want the DG's to stay where they are when you detach them, get HoverMFD and set the altitude to the same height as when the pad is up. Then detach and it'll stay at pretty much the same height.
