Hi Martin,
DO you recall the little meet up with managed to arrange with some other Orbiteers.
It was waaay back in 2006 i think! - Far too long ago!
What say you about having another beer / Meet up soon?

Al

I'm not Martin, but I fancy a beer!

p.s I'm also Sparticus.

Not a bad idea to do that.

Well, as you may or may not know, Martin is based near Euston station... (well that's where we had the last beer/ meet).

So perhaps the next possible meeting could be a little more structured. More like a mini 'event' with some PCs / laptops running Orbiter, with some workshops / presentations as well. Of course this will require much more planning & commitment, than just 'turning up'..

Any thoughts?

Encounters with Celebrities

I've met a lot of famous people. But I respect their privacy as well. I hate the paparrazi, particularly for what thay did to Princess Diana. I would love an autograph of Dr. Schweiger, maybe on an brand new copy of Windows 7. But if it didn't 'feel' right, I'd walk away without approaching him; even if I traveled all the way from California to try. Instead I'd cross the Channel, maybe in one of those Hovercraft if they're still in operation. To soothe my sense of disappointment, I'd retrace the steps of other intellectual greats and artists from the past.
:)

I'll be wandering around Europe in July, your island would be just a visa away. Party crashers welcome? :)

I'm always up for a beer. Just say where and when. (However, if it's going to be between mid-July and mid-September I may not be around, but would instead be available for a beer in Philadelphia).

I should be free in July. There are direct flights to London from my city, so that would be possible

I'll see when my exams are, but most likely they're at the end of July. There are flights at decent prices so it might be possible to be there. Small chance though. :)

Philadelphia is about a 13 hour drive for me, if all the stars line up and there are no traffic jams or road construction. Given the effects the drive to the Cape and back had on me, I'd probably hope there was another orbinaut I could pick up along the way to help with the drive ;)

I could if its somewhere in Florida.Maybe for the last shuttle launch we could have a meet up at ksc.Sorry im 14 can't drink beer yet lol

London is only 2 hours away form here by train (Damn slow speed rail link), unfortunately, I'm too young to drink.

I'll try and make it, if I'm "darn Sarf". Used to work in Stephen Street off Tottenham Court Road, so know the area reasonably well.
Happy days on the Northern Line from Waterloo Station, deeply missed...

I'm up for a beer and a chat. Anywhere round London is cool for me :-)

Seems like as good a reason as any to visit London. I'd love to, but I'm limited in July by childrens' birthdays (7th, 8th), so late in June would perhaps be better for me.
