News Michael Bay to shoot "Transformers 3" at the Cape

Wait a minute, does the SPS even fire in that direction in the middle of transit? Does it fire at all during that time? It's used for injection...

AFAIK there is a course correction somewhere along the way...

Why is there no LEM attached to the CM in the first scene?

Michael Bay fails space science forever.

(Oh, there it is in the second scene. I guess it caught up!)

It's a magical teleporting LEM. That also explains why the panning shot near the end shows it in a hilly, rocky area when Apollo 11 landed on a flat plain.

Apparently, the Transformers movies take place in an alternate universe where, among other things, NASA chose the Lunar Orbit Rendezvous option and they landed in a different location

NASA chose Lunar Orbit Rendezvous in reality, and it involves rendesvous AFTER landing, not before it.

Is it okay if I say I hate Michael Bay?

You have not understood Michael Bay. There is a great video that can bring his world closer to you... After all, it can always be worse by imagining the movie being made by Uwe Boll.

It is movie making for people who have the attention span of a MTV ring tone ad. And epic.

I don't want his world. I know pretty much what it is, and it's fine- until he shows Apollo 11 flying to the Moon without a LM, an SPS burn looking like a jet afterburner, and the Apollo spacesuits having those crappy little light-up lights that make sci-fi so cheap.

People with the attention span of an MTV ringtone ad will love it, of course, but I can't help thinking that it's a self-perpetuating phenomenon.
