News Michael Schumacher will be replacing Felipe Massa for the rest of the season

I used to play that years ago. The over whelming majority of the racing community is now using rFactor. The physics are much better, the multiplayer engine is many many times better with lots of people racing online daily, and there are endless mods available for it.

F1C is a dinosaur today in all respects. I'm actually surprised people are still making F1 mods for it. I once went back and played it after playing rFactor for some time and was very disapponited in the realism of the physics compared to rFactor. Anyway, as long as you have fun with it I suppose thats all that counts. :P

Well, it's sad that there is obviously no 2008 and 2009 mod for rFactor (including not only cars but just everything), but for F1 challenge instead (almost each season had been covered until its release, even including the late 70's and 80's), which still points to a relatively huge F1 challenge community (see youtube for example). If there is no 2009 mod for rFactor, this might prevent me from using it :(

But i'll have a look to all of it anyway ;)

But this is just amazing:

Just wanted to post this last bit for you as we're taking this thread a bit off-topic.

You must have missed the last link in my first post on the subject... There is a 2009 F1 mod for rFactor. Here's the first video of it I found on You Tube:

And here is one of the best F1 videos I've seen with rFactor running F1 2006 CTDP mod. The audio has been blocked by You Tube though:

Finally, here is a video I made featuring F1 2007 MMG for rFactor:

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! *spins in chair*

That's it. Michael won't return, so I won't return watching F1. I hope the future will bring us another F1 racing king. At the moment there is none, at least no comparable one. Boring times...

So you will stop watching a sport simply because one man isn't driving? Then you are not a fan of the sport, but rather only a fan of him. TBH, 2007 and 2008 were more exciting seasons in terms of the championship as you didn't have one man winning practically every race. Several people won in 2008, some for the first time ever! I think Mike's a great driver and I've always liked him, but it's the sport I like the most and unless it splits up into different series then I will continue to watch it.

I think what is missing in the F1 is really skill. The seasons are not exciting because you have two-three great drivers competing, but the whole field rather displays more or less incompetence.

Schumachers best seasons had been, when he had adequate opponents. Damon Hill was only a slightly worse driver in a slightly better car. Mika Hakkinen was a great driver as well.

Can you imagine such tactical and skillful fights today? I can't. The current driver field is just too weak, and technical failures decide more races then ever.

Let's not forgett good old Senna, may he rest in peace!
