Does anyone on OF play Minecraft.

I've never seen anyone mention it aside from the search that I just did.

If you haven't heard of it hear's the website: http://minecraft.net/

It's not free but it's not expensive.

from what I heared and read about the game, it's way too addictive for me to risk playing it...

A few of us from Orbiter Radio play Minecraft, myself included. Its quite a fun game, although I tend to take breaks from it.

I played almost every day until the Halloween update, but then I lost interest. I still play it now and then, but I dont have any inspiration for projects :(

Yeah, addictive game.
Gets boring after like a day or so, just like dwarf fortress, algodoo, powder toy, etc.
But interest comes back every month or so. For a few more days.

I tried building a replica of the Saturn V at a scale of 1:1. Here are some pics of the project:

Indeed we do. The segment of the community which hangs out on the Orbiter Radio IRC channel has a sub-set who play Minecraft. We also have a multiplayer server hosted by Michaeldim which gets some use from time to time.

I have some maps of my various minecraft worlds, including the multiplayer server's map here.

I think Orbinouts whould be more interested in moonforge if it only be playable, cause now it's like in pre alfa stage and its stability is close to..., well..., no stability at all:lol:. I tried to play it and I even got lucky to log on to server, but it was so slow and needed so many attempts that I leave it. Oh and AFAIR it used a lot of RAM memmory as for such small application:lol:.

Minecraft is pretty fun to play  even more fun when you recreate the probe in it though

Yeah, I play it as well. It's a lot of fun.
Wait, did someone mention an O-F server? What's the IP?

I mentioned an Orbiter Radio server, which is only up when there's an interest about playing on it. Michaeldim hosts it, and he can be found floating about either IRC server.

I play Minecraft with fireballs619 and a few other friends. We built an Aztec-style pyramid with a hallowed out interior, a self-sustaining farm, a tower as high as Minecraft will allow, a gigantic wall that guards our pyramid with a lava moat, a few bridges with self-propelled minecarts, and a bunker that we are currently building that will contain a Dwarrodelf-like hall from LOTR -

... plus a few other things that I have probably forgotten.

Ditto.

I need to find the secret of the thirty hour day to do all the stuff I'd love to do...

I play it, and will probably need to go to rehab or unplug my computer and hide it somewhere I can't find it.

But for now I have to finish my epic trans-continental sky-river.

yeah. so addictive... i tried to build a shuttle one time... until... "SSSssSSHHUTTLE?" *BOOM*

EDIT:Also i can't have this out of my head:
"MINE! MINE! MINECRAFT!"

I play on peaceful or on my server with mobs deactivated, I always thought of Minecraft as a building game anyway. :P

Edit: I'm currently building a castle, I'll try and post a pic or two later. ;)

I try to only go on peaceful when a glitch or bug causes me to lose all my stuff in a mob-infested area.

I had to go on peaceful (to be precise I deactivated monsters spawning) once on my server today because sneak suddenly deactivated while I was looking down a deep pit with several zombies in it.

I play it all the time. Such a magnificent desolation. ;)

I'd post a dozen pics or so but this I'm not at home. >.>
