Hey guys, I haven't been around for years, but I used to be known around here as Agent036. I heard about the release of Orbiter 2016 and I was curious to know if my old Mir model was still in it? It was added to Orbiter waaaaay back in the day, like maybe 2002? If so I should replace it, as the old girl is showing her years a bit and might do with a facelift. It's been years since I built a model for Orbiter but I'm sure it'll all come back to me.

It would be a very welcome upgrade. If you want you can use my MIR textures:

They are based on photos and relatively accurate. You can do whatever changes you see necessary.
Look into using the graphic client's enhanced material settings to get reflections, normal maps, etc ;)

Sadly there is still no modular Mir around, It was the first true big multi-module station, after Salyut 7 just got extended by a single module.

But maybe, such a station would look better as add-on.

Well, this one has separate module meshes:

But for a standard install replacement I'd go with a single mesh representing the station's final stage.

It's been a while since I've used this, but I think there is a scenario with the Shuttle that has MIR in a finished state as one monolithic unit instead ove several smaller ones.

I does look astounding with 4throck's textures, that's for sure.
