I have a Viewsonic VX2240W that has "Dynamic Contrast" option. If I select that (the picture is perfect) it dims the picture anytime it thinks that something unimportant is on the screen, sort of a screen saver part of its function, including dark scenes in games. See the problem? if I unselect "Dynamic Contrast" I can't for the life of me get the picture as clear as with "Dynamic Contrast" can. Anyone have a solution?
I have the latest drivers for my video card, really don't think the card is affecting it at all, this is all monitor related.

Unless you have some options within your monitor (and that is rare), you are screwed.

I have options for Contrast and Brightness amoung other things, however I don't seem to be able to adjust it as well as "Dynamic Comtrast":(, does anyone else have this problem? I must me LCD adjust challenged, like some people ar "Flashing 12s".

Viewsonics description of "Dynamic Contrast" it is suppose to brighten the screen for better night time contrast, but it doesn't. I really don't want to contact Viewsonic and speak to some out sourced english challenged individual.

If you turn off "dynamic contrast", in addition to adjusting the brightness/contrast settings on the monitor, you may want to try adjusting the gamma. On my PC at home I have done this using the controls in my Nvidia drivers. At work, I used a little utility called QuickGamma.

Also, there are some handy calibration targets that will help you get better results on this site:
