Problem Moonbase Alpha 1 - Problem with landing pad

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can help me with the Moonbase Alpha 1 add on...which I must say is fantastic....however, I'm experiencing a problem that when I approach a landing pad....and I am just about to land....my vessel goes straight through the pad and lands on the platform underneath....in other words, it's just like as if the landing pad had been open, and I just went straight through...why is the vessel not landing on the pad?...many thanks for anyone's help...Regards

I hate to be the one to bring out the "RTFM" acronym, but that's about the size of it... Check the manual that Ben wrote, it addresses this issue.
In short, you "attach" to the pad, not recover on it. Also, check out the development and release notes thread, he mentions it there also.

Hi there, thanks for your advice...but I have read the manual and I think I understand what I have to do..but when I hover my Delta Glider IV above the pad....say 1 metre or so...then do I go to MBA, or Pad X...in F3 because I've tried both....I press K (to attach to pad)...but then what...nothing happens...
Do you happen to know which is the development and release note thread that you mention, so I can have a read?..thanks..

I had to learn to do this same trick with the Marsbase Alpha. Which is another most excellent addition to anyones collection of bases to have BTW (I did however move it to Pavonis Mons instead of having it at Olympus).

What is the attachment ID? The Moonbase uses APR. So if it is APR then it should attach.

What do you mean by APR?...and attachment ID?..I'm slightly confused.....I was right above Pad 3 with the DGIV...about 1 metre hight dead centre...then pressed K..(I'd chosen MBA from F3)...and nothing happened)...I've read the thread, which basically is a duplicate of the manual....am I doing something wrong?...do the retracting doors have to out or in?...sorry to be a pain, but it would be great to get it working...

Basically you need to add an attachment line to the cfg. I don't have an example in front of me. But the attachment info has the attachment point and direction and an ID. To attach to the pad it must be APR

The cfg of the vessel in the vessels folder. I haven't got Orbiter running. But if you open the Eagle3.cfg you will see an example of attachment in the cfg. But you need to know the attachment value which is where the gear touchdown is.

The red value is the value of the Y value in the touchdown points.

Which vessel is this for. I can use meshwizard and figure it out

Excellent....and also, I was just wondering if it's possible to use the XR2 Ravenstar with the crane, instead of the Eagle...
I've managed to land on the pad...attach, lower the pad....extend the crane rail....but when I press N, nothing happens....is it purely for the Eagle, and that's why it doesn't work?....sorry to be a pain....
