Having dumped KSP (too annoying), decided to get into something more challenging.
Shuttle-A is OK as a lunar explorer, but unrealistic for earth launches.
Having been spoilt by DCS where all buttons actually work, I'd like to have something similar over here.
Soooo Prototype-A (Klonker) is a self contained 3-person earth launch-able lunar explorer. It's meant to launch from a planet with an atmosphere and never return to a planet with an atmosphere, but to explore lunar objects (ideally small moons like Phobos/Deimos).
Length : Approx 24m
Diameter: 3m main body, 2m cockpit section
Weight: Empty unknown as yet (will make real and easy configs)
SRB Configuration: 2 or 4 SRBs (will make real and easy configs)
Launches vertically from Earth, otherwise horizontally
It carries up to 12 containers of equipment/supplies which are detachable (can be dumped somewhere).
It has an extendable docking port and a room, and an EVA room port. The idea is to simulate micro gravity in the cockpit, rooms and EVA similar to real space. So it you're not strapped into your seat, you'll float around or be slammed against something if the ship accelerates (that's the idea anyway).
Now don't get excited.. this is all in my spare time, which is not much..
