Just sayin', in the process of debugging I have arrived at an altitude of 4,285,978 AU from the Sun, moving at a speed of 218,184,656,400 m / s (though the instruments read 0.00 m / s.) The camera is jittery and my spaceship is flickering in different states of dusk. I'm expecting to be eaten by a grue any minute now.
 
So, vinny5000, I was wondering do you just leave orbiter running in the background with thrusters blasting away for hours on end? Also, do you run any other missions or are you mainly interested in just making a mad dash to through the void?
 
Or he could have just used time acceleration while leaving the computer on while the thrusters were firing with unlimited fuel when he was asleep.....

So he's a tenth of a light year out and traveling at about 85% of the speed of light. Can someone calculate his time dilation situation? The math is a little over my head:lol:

This is a nitpick, but a better way of expressing time dilation is 1 / Gamma or in this case 1 / 1.87... = 0.53...

So for an occupant aboard that vessel, time would only pass at half the rate it passes for us.


At 85% of the speed of light, half the rate might not seem like much of a change, but things really slow down after you go above 90%.

So far so good for no problems like CTD when I go that far away from the sun such as over 9,000 AU away from the sun, and as far as I know orbiter have interstellar space without other solar systems like Alpha Centauri, and Deneb ect.
