NASCAR Team Tests Car at SLF

Matt DiBenedetto and his team set up shop at the SLF at KSC. The car sped down the runway and achieved a speed of 205 mph. Here is the full story:

An interesting story. Presumably cheaper than wind tunnel testing?

On a side note, I've always wondered why NASCAR cars are so ugly. Examining the images, I think it is the excessively long and elevated tail. Why are they built like that? Compare to a V8 Supercar, for example, which has a somewhat similar wheelbase:
