Got it off Wikipedia, thought it was vandalism for a moment before checking news sites.

Very sad indeed with the loss of first hand experience. And yet, a cheering note from his family:

Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.

A wonderful point - while a person has passed away, their achievements can endure for such a long time in so many ways. A name for the Man In the Moon? A fitting tribute, says I!

Just a few a few minutes before I heard this news, I found a US dollar coin given to me a few years back, with the Apollo 11 mission insignia on one side...

It has been a clear night here tonight- and the Moon is looking particularly beautiful.

My heart goes out to his family.
He was my hero and he will be missed immensely.
I will remember him as a humble but intellectual superior person.
And also as a very brave man.
