After several solid days of work, I'm giving in and asking for some help.

I found 4thRocks Mercury Little Joe add on ([ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4112"]Mercury Little Joe[/ame]) and thought it was pretty cool. I spent several days learning about Multistage and finally got it working well. In the documentation he invited others to improve it so I thought I would give it a go. I am learning about meshes and such so I can change the model to be a little more realistic (antenna fairing ejection, parachute attach point, etc).

In learning about the Base stuff, I thought I would make a new Beach Abort test launch pad at a camera area my father-in-law worked from for many years at the Cape. I copied the simple work I did at Wallops but it doesn't work!

The buildings I added show up just fine but the Pad and new launcher don't. If you zoom in and rotate with the mouse to just under the surface, all of a sudden the pad and launch tower show up. But if you move back above the surface, it goes away. Dangit! If you switch ships to the one at Wallops, you can see the launch tower and pad there just fine. I have tried adjusting the Y value to no avail. I have been through all the tutorials I could find and dissected lots of other base files and just can't figure it out. I started to build a new tower with tank and block primitives but realized the pad doesn't show up even if I delete the tower part. My only thought is it has to do with the high res textures in the Cape Canaveral area.

The file contains a simple scenario to take you to the two new pads (change ships). The launcher 4thRock built is also included. I have been working on a new 2010P1 build with nothing else added. The Wallops base will overwrite your old one but it just adds a few items.
