Hi All,

Just found Orbiter a couple weeks ago. Been spending time looking at the forum, watching tutorials, having lots of fun.

My vidiot kids think I'm addicted. After searching through some boxes in the basement, found my 30 year old copy of "Fundamentals of Astrodynamics". I used to know that stuff...will have to refresh my memory. I tell the kids I've forgotten more than they will ever know :) But that's probably not true.

I've been very lucky to have flown airplanes in the USAF and now for an airline...but always wanted to fly in space. I think I still have my rejection letter from NASA around here someplace. Reminded of the scene by Will Smith's character in "Independence Day"

So, you young guys and gals, have fun with this program...learn the physics behind it.

Sit back, enjoy the view of our world passing beneath you while listening to Bach. And of course :hailprobe:

Cheers,

David

Rejected from NASA? Get your revenge by flying beyond the Moon, Mars, etc.

HAIL PROBE!!!!! aprobeists will be shot.

Hi David, welcome to the community! Great to see you getting involved with Orbiter, it is very addictive and hours of endless fun.

Happy orbiting! :tiphat:

For a small local neighborhood, you'll be amazed at how truly endless the possibilities really are. If you're old old enough to have any memories of Apollo, or thought when you grew up you'd have gone to the Moon in a Pan Am commercial flight - this can help make up for the lingering disappointment.

Welcome aboard. Care for some Tang?

Well, I can't get into the USAF due to a health condition, so that probably means I can't be an astronaut either; but much thanks for helping our country by joining the military

I lived on that stuff growing up. Back then I figured we'd have a colony on the moon by now.

Sorry you didn't get into NASA, but Orbiter is way better. My head is above the clouds, but my feet are firmly on the ground.

Enjoy your stay. :)
