I've installed the latest version of Orbiter and it works fine, but everytime I try to install an addon it usually crashes... Here's what the diagnostic tool says...

Scenarios directory found: OK.
Meshes directory found: OK.
Config directory found: OK.
Base.cfg found: OK.
Vessels directory found: OK.

VINKA's SPACECRAFT ADDON

MISSING TEXTURE Cape21.dds.

What is Caoe21.dds? It says that for all of them..Please help!

Does that mean I need to install the previous versions of orbiter? Because vinka's latest version for spacecraft3 is 60302.. I have the latest version of orbiter but not the latest of spacecraft3.. What do I do?

Spacecraft.dll version 2 and 3 are completely compatible with the current orbiter version. I believe even version 1 is.
You can safely install them.

All 3 Spacecraft addons by Vinka are compatible with 2006.
Those were separated because of backward compatibility issues AFAIK.

My advice - Go into the Base.cfg file listed in the error and delete the line that says Cape21.dds. Took care of it for me when I had this issue. Been running without that line for months now with no adverse effects.

I had the same issues with the dll's mention in the OP, and I got those sorted. But now I'm having the same issue with the "MISSING TEXTURE Base21.dds" error.

I'm trying to follow the suggestion in the above post, but I can't find the reference to Base21 anywhere. Not that I fully trust Windows Search, or that MS-DOS Find is very good--it doesn't seem to let you search folder trees.

You're not looking for a file named "Base21.dds", so search won't help. You need to edit the file "Base.cfg" which is located in the "Config" directory of your Orbiter install. Open it with a text editor such as Notepad (not Wordpad or Word) and look for the line "Base21". It should be in the "generic textures" section. Simply delete this line. As I recall, that solves the problem (I did this long ago, so my memory may be in error about the location of that line). If you don't see the "Base21" line in that file, try "Config/Earth/Base/Canaveral.cfg".

Wow great .. I tried it, because I had the same problem.
Now it works.. Very good thank you.
I am happy that everything is clear now.
Have a nice day
