Hey Guys.Whats the easiest and fastest way to get my eccentricity Value down to 0.It seems like when I try to get an orbit of 200X200KM and try to get the ECC value down to 0 it throws my orbit values off. thanks
Eccentricity of zero is impossible in the real world and in Orbiter, as you always have multibody problems here (more than just one planet to orbit around).
You can't get your eccentricity down to exactly zero, but you get get it low enough for it to be zero for all practical intents and purposes (eg, < 0.0005 is readily achievable). It is difficult to do it all in one burn (you are launching from the surface?) but careful burns at periapsis and apoapsis will get you there. [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1407"]Burn Time Calc MFD[/ame] has a circularise mode that works very well for this purpose.
Burn prograde at apoapsis (Ap) to get the periapsis (Pe) higher. Stop the motors when you get the desired value for the Pe. Start the burn a few seconds before Ap. If the Pe gets equal to Ap the Ap will become Pe and you will rise your Ap.
You can't get an absolute 0 ecc (as it has been already stated) in theory. If I remember well the ecc has two decimals so you can get it to show 0.00 in Orbitersim.
Use the linear RCS to fine-tune the orbit if the Ap and Pe get too close like in 198Km Pe and 200Km Ap.
