Hi -

I am new to this forum so please bare with me.

What unit of measure the ALT readout measures in when below the 1.000K mark? is it in METERS or FEET?

For example, in the demo area of the Atlantis Shuttle Launch, the ALT readout indicates 53.30 ALT at the launch pad. Is this in feet or meters?

And I guess, but not sure, that above 1.000K it starts to measure ALT in KMs.

Am i correct?

Is there any good tutorials on the how to read the navigational instruments like the ALT tape, SPEED GS tape and etc? I looked all over, but cannot find it.

All I need is a guide on what the ALT readouts mean. Is it in meters when below 1.000K??

Thx.

Readouts are in meters. It's all in the manual. Orbiter uses SI units.

Im sorry, can you explain where I can find the manual on the navigational avionics and what they mean?

Also, is there any addons to convert from the METRIC system, to FEET and MPH or KNOTS on the readouts?

That would be very nice. But if not, I can live with it.

In the manual section 13.

Some addon's have displays that can show different units, but you must remember that orbiter uses SI units to do all the calculations, so readouts that use different units will less accurate(due to the extra calculations). Dansteph's DGIV and dbeachy's XR fleet both have such displays.
