This is a really great forum and I'm glad everything has moved over here, esspecially VBullitin is a really great forum system.

Equally great to see the community hasn't died, and never will!

Sorry I've been out of the loop for so long working on personal and professional stuff related to real life. Unemployment, traveling to Thailand, moving to Alabama and all that. I got a new job here in Huntsville, Rocket City, so I think things will finally stabalize and settle down. Aside from the hours I'll be putting into work, and the occasional weekends at trade shows and conventions I think things with my Orbiter projects can finally start to get going again.

I don't mean to detract from this forum, and don't want to actually. So I've only got my own little corner of the community where people who want to be involved or collaborate on Orbiter projects away from the busy main forums, specifically high resolution planetary mapping projects, OVP DirectX Programming, Game Engine Programming, Script programming, and Console Programming, ERV and Mars Direct modeling, Project Mercury 3D Modeling, ERV CFD tests, Delta Sprint CFD tests, and other related topics of interest. Yea and it's a damn good feeling to be back too. Sort of provisionally right now as I still need to finish up some major work on my website, but most of the really heavy personal projects are out of the way now, just some minor clean up work.

Glad you like the textures, Hopefully we'll get some new ones coming out at some point. *crosses fingers* Would be nice to have them sooner rather then later, but getting them is better then not getting them even if it is later.

I must say it's really nice to have a new forum like this where someone else (Tex) has stepped up to the plate and taken enough responsibility to maintain a great forum like this and delegate moderators. That job was getting rather pointless and certainly thankless (From my personal perspective), equally it only detracted from my time to develop on projects. I gota give praise to the moderators, cause I've been there, done that and it's not always fun. Thanks guys for doing what's gota be done to keep this community running smoothly like one big happy family. :beach:

On the planetary maps note, I've been pushing lately for development on the Lunar maps, cause we've got the data and high res Moon maps have been sorely lacking for FAR to long. I think Charles has been working pretty hard to get Isis working on Linux for some time now, though I still wish he would spend the time to write up a quick little batch conversion program in C++. But anyways, that's for us to debate on the project space and everyone else to enjoy when we finally get some image products to show for our work and costs.

Seems the moon race isn't just limited to Asia. :lol:
