I agree. Awesome graphics. Can't wait until the day Orbiter has graphics like these.

Except the landscape, I don't see huge differences to Orbiter. Ever been to Titan? ;)

One thing that would greatly improve Orbiter is layered, 3D clouds visible from space + 3D terrain visible from space.

Apart from the 3D terrain, atmospheric particle effects and reflections, it looks no better than Orbiter. If Orbiter wasn't still on DX7, everything in that video would be possible.

Seen this before. LOOKS pretty but until there is something to download and try it's just pretty pictures.

I remember seeing the progress on that 'game' sometime about a year ago. It doesn't look like a whole lot has changed since then. It is very pretty, but it looks a bit too ambitious. Will be fun to see when they release a download though.

Hopefully, with OVP, and the Orbiter supporters we will see something like that in the not-too-distant future.

The problem with Infinity - it's been around for years now, and haven't released a file besides some nice screenshots (or i don't know where to look), which makes it vaporware.
Orbiter on the other hand looks not too much worse, and is well and active.

Always impressive, a state of the art.
Sadly, it takes the path of a "simple" videogame.

the graphics is good but I am sure orbiter will catch up to that in a few years

That's just space combat. It's cool, yeah, but it doesn't have all the fancy stuff you see in their promo vids (like the smooth surface->orbit thing). The controls aren't bad.

"Apart from the graphics, it looks no better than Orbiter."

Yeah the infinity project looks impressive so far, but it's not out unlike Orbiter. I also have my doubts whether we'll ever see that project released.

Infinity is basicly just a couple guy's side project. Every once in awhile they release a post where they experiment with some proceedure or rending type, but it's a one-off proof of concept that you never see integrated examples of in any post about a client. Sure it looks wonderful, but visuals don't account for any core mechanics for any system in the game. It'll probably be the most pretty brain-dead space game out there once it gets to the point where someone can actually play a version of the real game, not thier lan test.

And BTW: which physics does it use, Star wars or Neutonian?
