Orbiter needs YOU!

What router do you have? Please provide exact make and model - also what utility are you talking about here?

Apple AirPort Express; my laptop with Windows XP connects to the network.

AirPort Utility 5.5.3 for Windows

I don't get it, dad put the password, it didn't work, then he gave up on it. None of this makes sense.

By "it didn't work" what do you mean? Password wasn't accepted? Utility crashed, froze, what? Help comes faster when you aren't pulling teeth to get info.

It just asked for the password again and again.

Never mind that now, I pressed the reset button on the router, which lead to it getting through. (I don't know how)

EDIT: Now what?

Do I put 2502 for public and private port?

yes.
Pre-emptive: for Private IP adress, press browse and look for your computer name, which can be found by going start, right clicking on My Computer and selecting properties.

Windows key + pause/break. [this section has been deleted]

Do you mean "Full Computer Name"? I tried putting that, without the "PC" part because you can only type numbers, and it said it was invalid.

It said to put my public IP address, which I did.

Updated OMP flight day configuration!

Revision 1
Disabled crash damage, all other same as previous.

Reason: If a player desynchs, other people's vessels lose their control and may crash into the ground. When the player synchs again, he will see dead XR's flying around, twitching in air and without smoke trails. This will fix that issue of dead XR's flying.

Good luck and may :probe: watch your reactors.

Well, we got in formation. AFTER 50 MINS OF TRYING.

Don't forget that we had 80% of it for around 40 mins...

After Action Report:
  • Getting 5 XR2s into formation was considerably harder than expected.
  • Getting 5 XR2s to fly in a straight line was considerably harder than expected.
  • Eventually, as evidenced by Axtertans screenshots, we did make it.
  • Despite a countdown on TS3, we were not synchronized in our launch.
  • This was compounded by the fact that one of our number had no mic, and one didn't have TS3.
  • For the reasons stated above, the formation break was not synchronized.
  • In the end, due to problems with my internet and one of our number going to bed, filming the dogfight has been postponed.

You did better than I expected. When I begun working on OBSP, I tried flying in formation with a DG just flying level. Took me quite a long time just to approach the DG, let alone sync velocity.

I'll try to whip up a script that makes the OBSP autopilots break formation as you described...

It did take like, 50 mins of flight just to get to that point, it was defiantly a challenge.

If you keep doing it regularly, you'll be able to get really good at it. And you'll be able to do it while turning - something my autopilots currently fail to do.

I'd really love to see how good you can get at it.

Right, first things first I meant to post this yesterday but never got round to it SORRY about that. On to the main point:

Status Update
RisingFury and ETF have been kind enough to allow me access to the latest OBSP Beta and create a script that Performs the formation break. Using this script I have been able to obtain video of a synchronous formation break. Combined with the footage obtained from the OMP session last weekend, I am now only one part away from finishing the video. The Dogfight. Once again I apologize for the extremely short notice, but who can come online at 7pm again tomorrow night?

Yes, I've put (GMT) after all the other times in this thread, I just plumb forgot this time. I seem to be forgetting a lot at the moment. :)

I'll try, but I can't promise it, since we'll have visitors tomorrow. I don't know how long they'll stay.
