Short answer: If your computer is good enough, it runs fine. It will run slower on Vista than XP, though.
Slightly longer answer: On Vista, Orbiter is CPU-limited, so as long as you have a fast CPU, it'll be fine (slower than it would be on XP, but if you have a good CPU you'll still be above 80-100fps all the time)
Prelude to a custom answer: what are your computer's specs? RAM, CPU, graphics card?
The important answer: get Doug's VistaBoost from http://www.dougsorbiterpage.com/index-3.html
See the "really long, technical answer" for details.
It runs great I am such a duface I was trying to run it from the Patched download.:lol::lol::lol::lol::rofl::rofl: Now I can fly Orbiter and FSX can't wait to start flying again.
Runs good for me also. System specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ Brisbane @ 2.2GHz
2GB RAM
MSI 256MB GeForce 8600GT OC Edition
160GB Maxtor SATA 3.0 Gbps Hard Drive
No problems here either. My biggest problem is my 5 year old trying to dock with the ISS going way too fast but that is another story for a different part of the forum.
