Upcoming space station:

It's taken quite some behind-the-scns (pun intended, go ahead and hate me :P) magic so far to get Piper's modules working satisfactorily...

I know right!? I've been working on a new space station to be released soon for the past 2+ weeks. Creating and editing config files etc. since his modules came with no config files. Also getting them all in the XR5 payload bay correctly takes some time. :P

Your station is looking good there!

Might as well show you guys what I've been working on. Here are some screen shots of my upcoming station:

'Centauri Space Station'
Altitude: 500km / 310miles
Inclination: 51.59

Flight 8:

At least 11 more flights to go. Each flight was carefully planned and tested, including those pesky docking clearances. The XR5 is the work horse for parts with the space shuttle picking up a couple of flights. Crew member flights include the Crew Transfer Vehicle + Ariane5 and Soyuz by Thorton.

I'm still flying the missions myself, beta testing, and writing documentation.

Sunrise on the ISS...

And a shameless plug for my 2nd Add-on

I'm thinking about, what if everyone's space station would be united in one scenario, for everyone to download. That would quite populate our LEO! :D

... and decrease framerate to 1 or 2 FPS

Shouldn't matter, as long as not all space stations are rendered at the same time, right?
Well, how does Orbiter's rendering system work? I'm pretty sure some graphics engines render things that are out of sight (for whatever reason) while some don't.

I think that's true - but I think mine won't have problems with all these projects i think on my computer... 3.2GHZ-quad, so 12.8GHZ at all, a good graphic card, etc...
might make it to 10 FPS or more.

let's try it!
We need to start a new project. Everyone builds ones own station and submits it. Then we can make orbital shuttle flights between the stations.

Great idea!
We can add thew SU-ststion (SU-VSA, see link in Signature), too, when it's ready.

greatings:tiphat:, HAL9001

someday you'll have to ask flight-controll for entering LEO

And someday (in real space) there will likely be debris advisories for departing and arriving spacecraft, much like there are fog/weather advisories for aircraft today...

That would be great to have everyone's space station in orbit. We could make a grand tour of everyone's station. :P

Unfortunately, the down side to building your own space station is the sheer number of vessels in the scenario. The one I'm working on now will have 37 vessels in the scenario once completed, and that's not even counting the space shuttle, XR5, or any DG4's, XR2s, etc. you may by flying to the station.

All starflights to the Andromeda Galaxy, cancelled due to supernova.
