Create shortcut for orbiter and then right-click on it -> properties -> change icon -> select one of them

On my computer they don't count as icons so I can't select them. Do they have to be save somewhere special? My computer doesn't seem to recognise RAR files.

RAR files aren't icons, they are archives, like for example ZIP, but in different format, which requires additional software to be installed to extract files from them.

You need to extract the icons first to use them. You can use either WinRAR, which was used to create this archive, or plenty of other (free) archivers/de-archivers, which support decompressing RAR archives, like for example 7-zip.

Thanks alot for that, really great images too.

The archive is extracted to wherever you tell the utility to extract to. I'm sure during this process, either you are prompted to give a path to desired extraction point, or it just extracts into the directory containing the archive. Extracting into C:\Windows\* is usually considered a Bad Idea.
