Movies have soundtracks.
Games have soundtracks.
When the book "Shadows of the empire" was published, a soundtrack was published too. To me it was an interesting idea.

People seem to use soundtracks from games or commercial artists when they play.
I was having the idea of having an original Orbiter soundtrack.
I bet a composer in the forums might like to make a soundtrack.

What do you think about it?
Is it feasible that people here might be willing to replace their ripped soundtracks and put an original one?

orbiter needs a kick-ass theam song

True...It does need something. Something corageous, daring, yet sweet and soft to listen to.

XD

Or a combined "The Planets" by Holst. Different pieces of each of the series and combine them all!

I have an idea: When you land at Cape Canaveral or any other major spaceport (Asension island and so on) "We Built This City" by Starship automatically plays in the background. What do you think?

This may not be a terribly original suggestion, but I absolutely love the second song (called "Stardate") on the Star Trek: The Next Generation Original Soundtrack.

You can listen to a clip here

Also, Enterprising young men from the new movie soundtrack:

If legal, I suggest one of the songs from X3 Reunion. The soundtracks are actually provided in MP3 form with the game... I love listening to that stuff.

For launch, depends on whether you like rock and roll or drama.
If you like drama, I suggest:

1) "Southampton" from the Titanic soundtrack

2) "Adiemus" by Enya

If you like rock and roll, almost anything with a nice hard beat will do, but I would go with:

1) "Maria (I Like it Loud)" by Scooter

2) "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by Scorpion

3) "Into the Never" by Metallica

Some of the songs which I listen to on spacewalks:

I think for post-launch, we should have something along the lines of this
Also, re entry could have something deep and imposing, yet peaceful and calm.

For those times when you get flung off into deep space at relatavistic speeds, I suggest Cygnus X1 by Rush. And play it LOUD!
