At the 2007 ISDC in Dallas, I gave a talk (1.1 MB PDF) about using Orbiter in education, and I handed out some flyers and a few CDR's of Orbiter materials. I just got the following email. Is there anyone on the forum in or near Dallas who might be able to help with this? I could help out with ideas and PowerPoint etc. but I can't be in Dallas this summer (this seems kind of late to be developing a summer workshop based on Orbiter, but she just asked - it's August 4-9). If you think you could help, please post or send me a PM and I will forward her email. I will remind her that Orbiter is free and I could provide her with CD's similar to what I did for ISDC.

Thanks,
Bruce

My name is Jackie Long. I am a Project Supervisor in The School of General Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas. For the third summer my department is partnering with our school of engineering and computer science to offer a week long residential academic camp for rising high school Seniors interested in majoring in a science or technology field. Part of my charge is to develop and secure programming for this project.

At the 2007 International Space Development Conference in Dallas, TX; I got a hold of an Orbiter 2006 free CD that includes some flies, tutorials, presentations and stuff you developed. I am writing you to see if you could put me in contact with someone in the Dallas area that could present and / or assist me in developing a workshop around the software. My students would have access to a computer lab for downloading or internet linked presentation facilities. I would also want to purchase order 30 of the CD’s so each student could have a copy to keep.

I would appreciate any help you can provide. I have attached the public announcement flyer about my program and link to our Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science. http://ecs.utdallas.edu/

Live long & prosper,
Jacqueline Long

I might be able to, depending on exactly what's involved (qualifications, etc.). I am working this summer, but it's mostly evening shifts so I should have a fair amount of free time during the day (depending on what else happens during the summer and such).

Thanks - I sent you a PM with some more info.
