We could save time choosing the winner by selecting the one who already has a huge lead!

Hm, i wonder how good of a decision it was to put a good image first.
That would induce bias.

Unfortunately I think 14 was far too large of a sample size for finals. (wasn't it supposed to be 9? Ties from the brackets don't seem to have been done properly.) I personally don't think all of the screenshots of are of similar quality. Smaller sample size would have reduced any possible position bias.

(In no way am I implying if Izacks does not deserve the votes it got, btw.)

I didn't voted for him, but honestly, Izack's pic is good and fits the theme very well (Neptune is such a remote place, and the idea of a big ship being dwarfed by the zoom out is excellent).

Yeh, didn't quite work out as planned did it? I didn't really plan for ties that well, I'm afraid; by the time I realised that this problem would arise it was too late to change things.

It's just the order that people submitted images. I could have randomised them I suppose.

Yea, I don't understand the logic behind involving the losers of each group in with the competition.

It was supposed to be World Cup-syle qualifying runs, but again, it didn't really work.

It's been OK, but if ever this gets done again, well, lessons have been learned. :flowers:

Anyway, here I am moaning and we haven't finished yet...

GREAT screen shots everyone!!

If there are no objections, I would be happy to use all of these images in a gallery on the new Downloads website to promote Orbiter :)

Thoughts?

Feel free to use mine, although it didnt make it to the Final group. "Leaving Home" was the name.

Congrats all who made it.

The Final Results!

Well, with over 100 votes, I think it's time to announce the winner... (Oh, come on, I haven't had the chance to be this dramatic for a long time!)

And the winner of the OSC Autumn 2011 is...
*drum-roll....................... bish! Da-daaah!*

With almost a third of the votes, Izack, with Neptune Encounter!
