Not much of an update, I did nothing at the weekend but I've managed to complete the landing gears. She's now practically an airplane. I just need to UV this and then she will be ready to be programmed into Orbiter.

My favorite part is actually looking from this angle. The silhouette is just nice. (P.S: The more I see it, it looks pretty similar to Mig-17 and Sabre. Don't know if that's the case for you.)

Nice. I'd go for the bare metal look and just texture some bolts, insignia and wear marks.

I think I'll do this exactly. Not only because it's nice, but it's easier also.

For inspiration, here's a plane from the Portuguese Air Force Museum with that paint scheme:

I don't think it's that simple, because you have to texture all those bolts, but it a cool vintage look.
