Ping - Old Timer

Its been awhile but I'm back after a couple years away. For those who don't know me I'm an old timer from almost the beginnings of Orbiter. Some of you may have used some of my tutorials or addons or even visited my website.

Some may remember I worked at KSC. I don't anymore. After twenty years at the rocket ranch I was laid-off with thousands of others. My last day was July 21, 2011. The day Atlantis return home. Workers all gathered around her in one massive retirement party and said our good byes. I haven't been there since. Although my new job has me going to KSC for a week early next year.

This morning I installed Orbiter on my laptop and am excited about simming again. I have some question that I'll post in the general forum.

It must be amazing to have seen the Shuttle launch (and come home, for that matter)... being a Bristol born lad, I've never had a change to do that..

Good to see you back! I can say in honesty that I wonder about you sometimes. Your tutorials on addon development get me even more into Orbiter when I first started out. And I wondered about that NASA job too with the shuttle program ending.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back. I have a cool job now but nothing can compare to working on the Space Shuttle. Now that's over for all. I can only hope US manned flight will return eventually. I still have friends working at KSC but they're all nervous.

For now I will be reliving the Apollo program with Orbiter. Later the Space Shuttle of course. Hey do we have an AUTOFSC to land the Space shuttles? In the past I loved that feature but it became unstable with the new fleet shuttles.
