Tracking of the meteor has shown it has broken up.
Most of It is now expected to hit the moon in July of this year. It is also expected to hit while the sun is not shining on the expected landing sites. All this means that plans to harvest this water have now gone in to full gear.
From around 2010 many private companies have been working on their own spacecraft which was fuelled by the demise of the “Space Shuttle” and assisted by direct US government funding. “Water or no water, we will have a base in operation” a spokesperson from the newly formed “Lunar Landscapes” said today. Lunar Landscapes has obtained funding to place a deep space radio telescope on the surface as what is termed a “Seed” project.
By ensuring there will be a base of any sort on the surface, it has opened the floodgates of investees willing to back other projects. “There will be plenty of work for every one” was the comment when asked about competing companies.
