And welcome GPS IIF-3 to the very special team of "Probe Day Probes" (satellites launched on October 4), their first member in 21 years! Notable members of the team includes Sputnik 1, Luna 3 (the first probe to go around and take photos of the Moon's far side) and Courier 1B (the world's first active repeater communication satellite). Not every launch attempt on October 4 has been successful though - including one that obliterated a launch pad at Baikonur!
