I am having weird instances where my saved SCN files are accessible and executable from the Orbiter menu, but I can't find the SCN files anywhere in the orbiter/scenarios folders. In fact, I can't find them anywhere on my computer at all (I did a complete search). Has anybody else experienced this? I was trying to find these files so I could organize them into folders, but can't find the files anywhere. Really weird.

Did you also search in hidden folders?

Is your Orbiter probably installed in "Program Files (x86)"?

Check if they aren't in "C:\Users\<Your user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore".

Hi,

I guess you're on Windows 7 (or Vista), right.
This strage behavior is a "feature" called 'VirtualStore'.

You will find all the changed/saved files somewhere here:
c:\Users\{YOURNAME}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Orbiter\
if you've installed Orbiter here:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Orbiter\

The "feature" wants to avoid that any process is saving/changing your
Installations...

There are several options to avoid this "feature", search a bit in the net for this.
I for example just installed Orbiter in my Home-Directory.

Without moving or installing Orbiter elsewhere, you can either take ownership of the folder, or add full control permissions for standard users or all users for that Orbiter folder and its all subfolders and files, or always run Orbiter as Administrator, if you want new quicksaves saved in the Scenarios folder of Orbiter installation instead of VirtualStore.
