I could make a neutrino joke, but its just not fast enough

^^ I was going to make a chemistry joke but was afraid there'd be no reaction... :P

The current status of the Gorleben Festival: Nuclear waste train is stuck in a freight yard near Hamburg, winds are strong enough to prevent any unloading operations in Dannenberg, so the radioactive cargo won't reach its destination before Monday. The highlight of the past night was the entrance of the Farmer's Emergency Community, who again blocked all major road crossings for police cars.

Sounds like all ingredients are there to make the last transport from France also one of the most expensive, both sides of the match are really giving all.

One comment of a player: "This night four people managed to keep a full [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundertschaft"]hundertschaft[/ame] of policeman exhausted."

More after a short break.

F-86 Sabre vs Mig-15

I was the F-86. We both tried the same head on tactic, and it seemed to work because we both completed our objectives: destroying each other! ;)

At a small cost though...

Done in IL2 Sturmovik: 1946 with the Ultr@pack mod (adds aircraft from the Korean War).

Yeah, IL2 Sturmovik: 1946 is a compilation of games including: Forgotten Battles, Pacific Fighters, Sturmoviks Over Manchuria and the Ace Expansion Pack.

Warning, random!

Spirit and Opportunity were designed for 90 sols and Opportunity is at around 2600 sols now, that's 28 times longer.
If we apply that rule to Curiosity... it will survive 50 years!

:hailprobe:

If we apply that to me, I'll live until I graduate!

"I was put on this earth to accomplish a specific set of goals. Right now, I'm so far behind that I'll never die!"

Curiosity has a harder limit on its operational life - nonrenewable plutonium power supply. Immune to dust, but the lifespan limit is more "hardcoded." :s

why not make a windscreen wiper setup for the solar panels?

Plutonium + solar = less mass dedicated to scientific instruments. Best have a rover that works well than one that works longer.

Why not panelwipers? No idea. If they can drop a cooper-sized robot from a rocketcopter on mars, why not make a rover capable of cleaning itself? :)

so, in summary, we can walk on the moon, put robots on mars, yet we CANT put windscreen wipers on solar panels... 10 minute trip to the auto parts shop.... not hard :P

Izack, i meant just a solar powered bot, not plutonium AND solar panels.

Also, solar arrays don't last for all eternity as well - they slowly degrade because the solar radiation damages the semiconductors of it.
