So, I just adopted a one year old German Shepherd from a shelter yesterday, and I've named him Sagan, after a man that I'm sure all of us are familiar with. He's quite well behaved and very energetic.

A German Shepherd should be named Wernher...OK that name didn't really keep its popularity.

I thought "Piss" and "Kack" are better names for German Shepherds... (RTL Samstag-Nacht.... I really miss it)

Common Sense doesn't come standard.

A quote from a crank...

The Martian spring arrives and with it the pulse of life awakens once again. In the midst of this activity an artifact stands silently upon the plain, rising water swirling about its half-hidden alien shape. It is an ancient emissary from another world and time. In the cosmic scale of such events it came a breath too early to fulfill its mission and because of that its successors never came at all. They, like their creators, perished shortly after the rejection of the Solar System by the inhabitants of planet Earth, millenia before this newborn Martian spring.

Thus life on Mars awakes - alone - and thus it will remain.

Is it just me, or are good metal textures for CG work really hard to find? I'm browsing through various sites, and I'm always struck by how much of it is available, and how much is completely useless. I don't want a close up shot of a metal plate with 6 dents in it! I can add those later as a decal!

Or the metal looks old and/or corroded.

What kind of metal? I can get some pictures of steel sheet metal for you... Not so sure about aluminum, though. I'll swing by the hardware aisles during work today and see what I can take some pics of.

The photo isn't great, but here's one. He's about 75-80% German Shepherd, mixed with something a generation or two prior to his birth.

Cant see anything yet.

She was born in 1984, two years before me.
She spent 29 years in the dark.
Today, it's time for her to shine.
Fiat lux.

THAT is awesome. Wonder what the electric bill for it was, though.

And shrapnel protection in case of an OOPS with the cobbled together power supply.
This thing have quite an explosive pressure inside it.

Indeed.
Looks like 5 to 8 KW. No less than 3.
So, pretty negligible bill.

Mine is comparatively puny at 300W, but steel still glows:
