Having to work during the launch of the first Asian Mars probe...accomplished.

Well, to be fair there was another one but a) it was launched by someone else and b) it didn't go to Mars.
If you were referring to the Chinese Yinghuo-1 that hitched a ride on the Russian Fobos-Grunt...

there was also the Japanese Nozomi probe, which reached Mars in 2003 but failed to enter orbit.

Free to play doesn't have to mean pay to win, if it's well designed, although the temptation to go there is pretty big...

No, not neccessarily. See Eve Online.
But 90% of them, especially in the FPS genre, end up being exactly that.

Free 14-day trial =/= free to play

Free to play = free to "play" indefinitely, but with premium accounts and/or microtransactions.

Freeware = completely free

Google today is celebrating [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Loewy"]Raymond Loewy[/ame], who provided input on the design of Skylab's interior.

I keep forgetting how huge it was inside.

EVE Online allows you to "pay" for game time by using in-game items which can be purchased with in-game currency. So, if you make enough money in the game, it's "free to play."

Last time I checked, to make enough in-game money to pay for game time you needed to play it 24/7, and even a bit more. I wouldn't say it's possible, at least for a noob.

Yeah, no, not even close, sorry.

Unless you're awful at the game, you can easily make enough money to pay for the month's game time in under 24 hours of playing. That's 24 hours in a month. Less than an hour a day. If you're decent and choose the right activities, you can pay for the month in 6 or fewer hours of playing (about what I'm running). And that's solo...if you team up to take on harder (and more lucrative) activities it goes even faster.

Noobs have plenty of options available to them to make enough money, as well. You may need to work a bit harder for the first 3-4 months of playing, but after that you'll be fine.

Edit: Just for kicks, some numbers. Current cost of a PLEX (the item that gets you 30 days of gametime) is about 600million ISK. That means you only need to earn 20million ISK per day, on average, to pay for it. That's not even close to difficult.

I rather meant that it's an example of a game where you can spend money for stuff without it becoming pay to win. You can buy a ship for a lot of real life dollars only to get it destroyed by some noob.

Well, either I played it too long ago, or I'm awful at gaming

Or get hunted for a reason by professionals. We had a thread in O-F about that.

You know, every time I read your screen name a certain Song from Boney M starts going through my head. It's getting annoying...

You know, I had to google to understand this.

Music, the subject I know the least about.
Yes, I'm more knowledgable in Bhutanese cuisine than in music.
