I have two fuel containers loaded in my DGIV Cargo bay but when I push the button "Use Fuel Cargo" I get a message "No Fuel Cargo Found" How do I refuel using the fuel in cargo bay?
Thanks

I'm not at home, but if memory serves, there are two different commands that "use" fuel cargo. Which one you use depends on whether the cargo is loaded, or unloaded but nearby.

UCGO cargo's which are loaded on a vessel don't exist as far as the Orbiter core are concerned, while unloaded "free" cargo's are vessels.

If you are using the command to "load a nearby cargo" it will fail if there are no free cargo's near you, and the DGIV is looking outside the vessel for a UCGO vessel designated as a fuel container. The ones you have loaded won't show up here.

Check the manual, and experiment a bit, to find the "other" use cargo command that will have the DGIV check for internal (loaded) cargo's and use them.

I don't remember if its possible for a fuel container to be empty - they may delete themselves after use.

Im pushing "Use Fuel Cargo" but its says "none found". I even opened the cargo bay doors and there are two fuel containers inside. Ive read the manuel but cant find anything explaining this.

I can't help much more for a few hours, until I get home. In the meantime, the answer may be in the UCGO docs, not the DGIV docks. I seem to recall that the Arrow has two different buttons, depending on whether the cargo is loaded or not. I don't recall how the DGIV does this.

Keep in mind that although you can see the "cargo" in the DGIV, the cargo doesn't exist in it's own right as a vessel. It exists in the memory of the DGIV, and the mesh is added to the DGIV for visual effects only.

The functions/classes used by the coder to access "onboard" UCGO's is different from the functions used to access "outboard" fuel - there will likely be another option, or setting to change, that will allow you to access the "Onboard" resources.

When I get home I try to give it a look.

The containers do disappear when they are empty.
However, there are two types of fuel cargo unit: barrel fuel and space fuel. If I remember well, only space fuel can be used to load DGIV's tanks in orbit. So first make sure that your cargos are "space fuel" type instead of "barrel fuel". If that's not the problem, I don't know what it could be.

You can use both space fuel and barrel fuel. Each of them add 1048 kg of fuel into your main tanks and then dissappear from the payload bay.

If you are using the UCGO cargo fuel "box" (or barrels) and your main fuel tank has used more than 1048 kg of fuel, pressing the "use fuel cargo" button, should work.

"Containers"? Is there any chance you are using the (now obsolete) old style DGIV cargo? (see pic).

If you are using this type of cargo (which is just one container), then you have to release the payload, dock with it and transfer the fuel via the "FUEL & ENGINES SYSTEM" (Lower panel, left side).

Hope this helps,

The problem with that is that you can get unlimited fuel that way. If you'll notice, you can also get O2 from the fuel canister, and fuel from the LIFE SUPPORT canister as well. It's just the DGIV's response to being docked to any vessel (you could stick a docking port on an UMmu's head and refuel on his brainmatter if you wanted.)

So, you can refuel, but it's sort of cheating...

Back in the day... (Before UCGO) i used THAT cheat to get my ass from Jupiter to Saturn, and then some...
But... You do know that i like a "realistic" setting.
