Scenario Reusable stages ala SpaceX "Grasshopper"

I'm guessing many of you have seen the CG video SpaceX has done of the different stages all flying back and landing for reuse. Has anyone put together a simulation of this for Orbiter? I'd love to see this tried out.

If you're not familiar with the scenario SpaceX is proposing, basically each stage retains some fuel and is able to come back down and land itself autonomously for refuel and reuse. There's a great video they have - see
 
It's a great idea, in the absence now of the space shuttle. This is a long time in coming. This should have been already out and being used long before the shuttle ever retired. This also cuts down the waste we always put up into space by reusing as much of the rocket stages that we send up there.

Let's just hope that this works out well like the way the video presents.
 
It looks cool, but I also have to say it kind of looks a bit too far-fetched.
 
If one lands in my yard by mistake, can I keep it ?
