RIP Bill Anders

One of the least known Apollo astronauts but known for the earthrise photo Sad to hear how he died but doing something he loved.
I did see the Earthrise in orbiter and it is just super to watch what the Apollo 8 crew saw

RIP, his photograph and the narration of Genesis will always be remembered.

The moment of the famous photo:
"Calm down Lovell!" always makes laugh.
Same here. Men becoming kids, when there is excitement and when having fun, once there is no TV camera and big interview. Just normal people like we all are. I really like that.

Also, one of the very few audio recordings from inside a spacecraft of that era.

It seems he misjudged his altitude while pulling up from a loop and just hit the water. ☹️

I don't think so. He didn't do any aerobatics in the flight before and just went sightseeing as I can tell.
