Sitting on the bus, on my way to work, couldn't help but consider this article throughout the day. Having the "No Consideration" gene, I never thought how my missis ever coped with domestic house work.

But here is one robot that had the ultimate solution... Link Here

Considering the image contained in the article, I consider it a wise move if the rest of the house is like the cooking area.

It says something about your cleanness habits when even a cleaning robot offs itself from the mess.

Sounds like a fake or something else is fishy.

At least I doubt we're that close to actual self-aware, creative and not programming-binded robots.

Otherwise I order an R2 unit.

Sure, it's about as much a suicide as man reading facebook on a phone wandering into a live artillery fire range.
That robot does not even have heat sensors or any way to be aware of the hot plate.

I suspect the story was hyped up somewhat, to make my ride to work more entertaining. And who can blame them, really.!
And having a suspicious mind, I suspect foul play myself. I suspect this driod was murdered in the most horrable way imaginable. The owner must have worked out that the robot had a higher IQ level than he, something which may be proven right when he files his papers to sue the manufacturers for a new cooker, redecoration grant and a replacement robot, minus the depression chip.

I've heard some claims in my life, but this one made my day, all day.

"switched off"= "If i put this robot on the stove and smoke damage all my belongings I will be able to sue the robot company and collect insurance becauseignoranthumansdonttrustmachines"

nothing more than ill-played anthropomorphism! bunk! bunk!

Anybody remember the Tom Selleck movie Runaway?

He played a cop who had to go out and deal with domestic robots going berzerk.

We Austrians tend to get a little melancholic (or grumpy - depends on the character) after a while. I can sympathize with the robot...

I loved that movie when I was a kid. Especially homing bullets and small spider robots.

I think this news is a joke or exaggeration:rolleyes:.
He homicidal robot that I know is Windows and your powerful weapon, the BSOD, breaks when save important file:thumbup:. And a robot martyr, may be ESET who gives his life for the cause Winbugs.

That bad guy was Gene Simmons! He should've called that pistol the "love gun".

Yeah. And remember those little "migrant" robot minicars that would home in on your car and explode underneath? At least, that's how I remember they were called. Need some! That and the laser gun on top of the car. And the laser pistol used by Ramsay to disable the robots. And the... Oh well, I'll take home the whole toy department. :)
