Unbelievable. I just bought last year's new Heaven and Hell (Dio lineup of Black Sabbath) album and the CD arrived at my house yesterday. I totally dig it, and now I see this:

Seems he got stomch cancer 6 months ago and never recovered. A very sad day for metalheads and rock and roll fans.

RIP Ronnie, and when you get to heaven, give 'em hell!

I was at the show in this video in Philly back in the 80s, one of those screaming punks in the crowd is me. I will so miss this guy:

What a shame, I didn't even know he was sick. Vaya con Dio.

Keep on rocking, Ronny, you'll always be the true master of the moon here.

Very sad to hear he is gone.

I think we all know, he will be rocking on wherever he is.

Like a Rainbow in the Dark

RIP Ronnie

One more thing, here he is with Heaven and Hell (the 1981 line-up of Black Sabbath, renamed to avoid confusion when Ozzy sings with the group) singing in Germany just a few months ago. Tell me how many 67-year-old dudes can sing like this:

And the whole band, Tony, Geezer, and Vinny all sound so awesome here. I was looking forward to catching these guys on their next tour, and they were getting ready to go into the studio to record another album.

Of all the personalities in the world of heavy metal, this one is really tough to let go of.

Sad to see him go, he was after my generation, but louder.

N.
