"And here we have Landing Control… waiting… for the lander… to land"
Yep, soo fascinating :P

If you have been waiting for this since 2005 it is very fascinating.

The live show on the German public broadcaster 3sat is also pretty. :)

I've been waiting for this for a year or two and that's plenty. Imagine the scientists and engineers who've worked on the spacecraft for the past 20 years.

There is less than 30 minutes until the signal indicating a landing returns, and Philae is 28.5 light minutes away. So the lander should've touched down by now.

I'm using this broadcast: http://new.livestream.com/esa/cometlanding

I have been waiting for this since I became apprentice at the German aerospace center in 1998... FINALLY IT IS THERE!

Does anyone know why we are not seeing pictures of the comet from Philae?

That was probably 8 minutes until landing. Wait another 28.5 minutes to get the signal.

Interesting fact is that (maybe, hopeful) Philae is landed on the comet, but that we need to wait around a half hour for the answer on that question.

Go Philae, you can do this after years of waiting! :)
