Howdy y'all.

I had an unfortunate easter present of chickenpox (co-workers kids came in for the day, and suprise, i've never had it) So I've now got at least 2 weeks of time where I cant see anyone..

So I went looking for something interesting to spend my time, and came across this! Awesome beyond belief - how did i never find it before!

Anyway. I just deleted my first installation and am getting a careful list of addons, and learning about how to install everything before I (again) corrupt my install :)

Does anyone have any tips about addons or compatibility issues for win7?

Welcome to the forums. :) Reguarding Win7 The only thing I might recommend would be when you start orbiter and get to the launchpad goto the video tab and put a checkmark in the box where it says "Disable hardware Pageflip" This will keep your win7 screen from a blinking/flashing effect. Other then that no issues other then maybe a addon conflict. (installing more then one addon at a time) Which is more or less something you just have to experiment with.

Greetings! And welcome to the forum!
I've been very impressed with the Jones Soft Generic Mod Enabler (easy enough to find).
It'll let you add and drop add-ons with a mouseclick, it only takes a few minutes to figure out how to use it. It really helps me 'manage' my Orbiter installation.

Hello, and :welcome:

I've heard of a common Win7 problem with the screen flickering, that can be fixed by checking 'disable hardware pageflip' in the Video tab of the launchpad.

Edit: :ninja:

You might want to use a revision control system like git or mercurial to manage your addons. Makes it much easier to only load what you want and disable/remove incompatible addons.

Good suggestion. I'm using a Windows version of Subversion for quite a few different things and it makes keeping Orbiter backups so much easier.

Oh wow. Thanks for the pageflip setting - made me able to run in fullscreen mode!. Even more awesome!.

Now I'm installing the sound and other "required" mods from The Add-on page
