Software Screen not redrawn on task switch with external MFD

If I open an external MFD, then do a task switch (alt-tab), and then back another (alt-tab), the screen is not redrawn if I had opened one or more external MFD's.

Win XP sp3.

Would you be running Orbiter in full screen mode? I have this issue too. It never comes back up after an alt tab or if some silly application hijacks the focus. If I need to alt tab or want to surf the internet while I fly, I'll just use windowed instead.

I always fly windowed for the same reason as Carmen plus it means I can have IRC and music up on the second screen whilst the Earth (or moon, Mars, etc) scrolls by in the left.
