Shoot for the moon

I am attempting to go for some earth-moon moon-earth transfers, and I did successfully get to the moon one time. I thought on the way back I might simulate an MFD faliure and not use them, just use judgement and an escape burn. I made a single burn and got my little cross-in-a-circle thing on the HUD pointed at earth. I sped up time to x100 for a while to pass the time, and a few seconds later Orbiter crashed. I'm not sure why it did that or why I would ever have to practice an MFD faliure, but would it be possible to do that and successfully reenter?

I actually did a point+burn like that before, with success, but I screwed some stuff up (I needed a 10-minute retrograde burn full thrust to get back into LEO)

As for the crash, I don't know, but I also experience CTDs when entering or leaving a body's SOI.

I've experienced crashes on leaving/entering SOIs if you have LandMFD installed. The crashes I experienced seemed to be if you select a target base on the moon. You don't need the landmfd open, just installed.
