Does the game have any way to track where the pods land? Like if I'm doing the mission from Brighton Beach and release pods on a reentry trajectory on earth, how can I tell if they landed anywhere near where I was aiming once they're beyond visual range?

Also, is there a way to operate the auxiliary engines other than clicking on the controls? The manual says "keyboard shortcuts are available" but I need it dumbed down more. Like what key to press.

Hi there.

The retro engines / hovers work with strg+0 or , on the numpad

you can use the scenery editor to bring focus to non vessel - like objects.

you have to activate the scenery editor in the startup-menue.

within orbiter press strg+4 - then select scenery editor. the rest of it should be selfe-explaining.

The best way to get the trajectory correct would be using the

delta-v program of the interplanetary mfd (imfd)
share it with the 2nd mfd and use the map of imfd to see the hitpoint of the released cargo.

good luck,

The English equivalent of Strg (Austrian) is the Ctrl key. And it's not Ctrl+4, but Ctrl+F4.

I never tried that particular Shuttle-A scenario, but I think [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2139"]AeroBrakeMFD[/ame] is good for tracking where something is going to land after re-entry.

Sorry - Pipcard, thank you for pointing out - I always make that mistake - it is in the German world so common to say strg that I never got used to saying CTRL+
and yes, it is CTRL+F4
sorry,
Peter
