News Silver Spitfire. Coming to an airport near you.

I'm a bit miffed didn't catch it at Newcastle Airport UK, but I doubt if they were allowing visitors.

I guess it will stay for the night in Lelystad Airport. That's the location where the two Spitfires were secretly flown to last year when bought by Max Verstappen's sponsor Frits van Eerd.

Yes, they are getting a move on now.

South to Ahmedabad, then northeast to Umarkot, then west to Karachi.

Athens. Still a comfortable 20 degrees °C there. I would stay.

Berlin now. Next stop will be Holland I pressume. Lelystad Airport is where I expect them to go. If that happens to be Friday, I might have a chance to check it out.

Indeed it's in Lelystad already now. Crap. I think they want to go home now and leave soon.

The soil on which the Spitfire is sitting now didn't exist untill after WWII. So today could very well be the first time this plane went below sea level (-4 meter).

And it's back in the UK.

No chance to have a look..

Last monday, it flew close to my glider site..

And today, it flew over my house and over my place of work! :@

Anyway, it was so foggy today, I doubt anyone has seen it.

These guys are very fortunate they had the chance to do this. Living the dream.

The groundtrack was 1.2 kilometer from my house. I could have heard it..

With a bit of luck, we can see a, perhaps multiple, Spitfire flyby at the first F1 race in Zandvoort.

That would be something.
I saw a group of Spitfires at Duxford long time ago, marvellous.

I used to fly from Goodwood, nice airfield, grass. Get some low cloud coming off the South Downs at times, and sea-fog as well.
